Camlet Way

This project involved the demolition of two existing family dwellings and the creation of five high-end, self-contained flats in Cockfosters, north London. Although traditional in appearance, the Camlet Way flats are contemporary in function, and also in the architectural details. The design was developed to meet the requirements of a private developer client and undertaken at a previous place of work.

The development site is located on a prominent corner plot that slopes to the southern boundary, which meant that the eventual design had to overcome a number of planning matters early in the project, namely overall scale and overlooking concerns.

Internally the building benefits from a series of free-flowing spaces, including open plan kitchen and dining areas, large bedrooms with private en-suites, and either terrace balconies or spacious gardens with views over the fields beyond.
